Section 1: As We Commemorate

Welcome! For week 1, we’ll be memorizing Section 1 of The Living Christ.

The most important thing you can do to memorize this section this week is to listen to the song as much as possible!

As we commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ two millennia ago we offer our testimony of the reality of His matchless life and the infinite virtue of His great atoning sacrifice. None other has had so profound an influence upon all who have lived and will yet live upon the earth.

Additionally, there are so many other tips and tricks for memorizing, and we’ve provided as many resources for you as we could think of! Below is adult and child flip-books, art for hanging, and coloring pages! We recommend using the flip-books, art, and coloring pages while you are listening to the song.

Want all the files? Just click the button below and you’ll get them all in one nice organized folder:

  1. I was so excited to find this again. I started trying to memorize it when you did the collaboration awhile ago but life got in the way. Thank you so much for sharing your amazing talents. I love to play it on repeat while I’m driving to help me memorize it.

  2. This is so beautiful and a wonderful way to learn The Living Christ document. Thank you to everyone who put this together! I noticed one error on the complete downloads for 8×10 prints. Section 5 words on the yellow background are a repeat of section 3.

  3. Hello! First of all, THANK YOU all so much!!! My son & I are loving this project! I have never attempted to memorize this because it has seemed too hard, but this makes it so much easier & totally doable! I just went to print section 7 & noticed a small typo …and all flesh…
Just thought you might want to know. Thank you again for this gift!

    1. Thank you for catching this typo! The links on section 7’s page are updated and soon all the bulk download links will be updated as well!

  4. I’m so excited to join this project. Huge thanks to the many, many people who have shared their gifts. God needs each one of us.

  5. Yay yay yay! I’m a seminary teacher, and I’ve been wanting to challenge my class to memorize The Living Christ between now and Christmas. In searching for resources, I found your website, and I love it! Thank you so much! I’m truly grateful for this.

  6. We are having our primary learn this! As a presidency we are wanting to print these flip books to help the primary kids learn it, but the link to print the first section of the book is not letting me download it. I am wondering if I can get some help with that!

    1. Apologize for the delayed response. The link is correct, sometimes the browser blocks download links. If you were using Chrome, try Safari. If you are still having problems, right click the image, choose “Open Link in New Tab” and if that doesn’t automatically download, click the refresh button and it might work then!

  7. Thank you so much for this. I have complete the first section. I am grateful for all the countless hours and for your talent and willingness to share with others. God bless y’all.

  8. Thank you so much for listening to the spirit, and blessing our lives with your spiritual gifts!!! This is such a blessing to so many!

  9. The 10 of us have been studying the gospel together for the past 2 years. We are all women, married, a few “empty nesters”, several with full time missionaries out, all avid pickleball players. When the pandemic hit we missed Relief Society and the chance to learn & discuss with our sisters in the gospel. We meet every Wednesday 8-9:30am, and we each take turns hosting and choosing the topic. We LOVE this project and have accepted the challenge to memorize The Living Christ. We cannot thank you enough for providing all of these materials and resources! The songs are just beautiful — and they work! Many of us have tried before and failed. Thank you for this amazing project!

  10. Has anyone ever done this for a Christmas or Easter program?
I had the thought to try it, and wondered if it could be done in a very simple way for a sacrament Easter program…or if it is best to do more as an evening Fireside?

  11. Wow, this is a phenomenal rendering of an inspired idea—especially at a time when Jesus Christ is ever more emphasized, and we are called to let Him be the center and focus of our lives.

  12. I’m so enthused about this endeavor. I love the music. It’s so beautiful. I wish I had the skill to allow it down in parts to make it easier to learn.

  13. I am a homeschooling Mom who loves memorizing poetry, speeches and random facts with my kids. I had a thought recently that we’ve spent so much time and effort on these other works and tidbits of knowledge, but we haven’t yet attempted The Living Christ! I had always wanted to memorize this powerful document, but I definitely felt intimidated…..but despite my trepidation, we started today. I will say the music has transformed the way I think about the words, and I already feel a deeper connection to Christ. Thank you, I know my kids feel it as well and I am excited to memorize every word.

  14. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I love! My seminary class started Section 1 today using the music, video, coloring pages, and wall paper. Success! You’ve offer the world a beautiful gift.
