Section 3: He Instituted

Welcome to Section 3 (and congrats on finishing the first 2 sections)! You’re going to love the original song to this section. Here is a track that plays songs 1-3 together so you can hear them in order, and continue to practice previous sections.

He instituted the sacrament as a reminder of His great atoning sacrifice. He was arrested and condemned on spurious charges, convicted to satisfy a mob, and sentenced to die on Calvary’s cross. He gave His life to atone for the sins of all mankind. His was a great vicarious gift in behalf of all who would ever live upon the earth. We solemnly testify that His life, which is central to all human history, neither began in Bethlehem nor concluded on Calvary. He was the Firstborn of the Father, the Only Begotten Son in the flesh, the Redeemer of the world.

Something fun in this week’s resources: Shawna Edwards has written an Alto part to sing! You can find two different pieces of sheet music to reflect the two options for singing. As always, in our resources you’ll also find: – Coloring pages for adults and kids – Two sets of flip-books for memorizing – 8×10 prints – Phone lock screens for easy access to the words at any time – Recorded music for sections 1-3 combined. Good luck this week, we’re all praying that the music will carry the words and message of section 3 into your heart.

  1. Section 3 vocal and sheet music don’t match. Sung in 3/4 and sheet music in 4/4. Is there a place I can find the sheet music that is the same as what is being sung?

  2. These songs are so beautiful!! I’m so glad I kept looking around the website and finally found the full score. Maybe it would be helpful to add a full score section to the download tab. Also, just a note, the flipbook still has the old melody for this 3rd chapter.

    1. We are working on getting the melody correct for the 3rd section and I added the full score to all the individual section pages. Thank you for your help!

  3. There’s a typo I noticed in the sheet music. Instead of “which *is* central to all human history,” it reads “which was central to all human history.” The music recording follows the sheet music, so it has the error as well. Thank you for your continued support of this project.

  4. Hi, just a thought—have you thought about publishing to major music platforms through a distributor? It actually only takes a few minutes and in most cases is free. I would understand if you’ve already considered this as an option. There might be reasons you haven’t gone that route yet.

But know this, having this music accessible through Spotify and Apple Music would make the songs much more easily shared, and as a consequence, The Living Christ project would have the potential to reach a lot of people, even more than it does now. Best wishes!

    1. We were able to get the songs onto music platforms included Spotify and Apple Music! We are so excited about this and agree this will help it reach a lot more people!

  5. What a wonderful blessing this is! Thank you so much for all your hard work and sacrifice to bring this to pass. Learning this has given me a strong focus on Christ, which just makes everything else in life so much easier.
Side note–In the 3th chapter the song is sung:
“. . . His life which “WAS” central to all human history . . .”
But the original text reads “IS”.
Thank you again for sharing your beautiful talents and inspiration.
